Start with a medium grind setting.
Prep and Preheat
Get ready to brew by placing the filter in the basket. Next, preheat and rinse filter with hot water. You can preheat your mug as well. Discard rinse water.
Weigh and Grind
Measure and grind 17 grams of coffee - or one rounded AeroPress spoonful or about 2 1/2 Tbs.
Affix the basket to the bottom of the brew chamber. You can use the handy coffee loader (funnel) that comes with the AeroPress. Add coffee, then remove loader. You're ready to brew!
Fill kettle with hot water to about 2/3 full and heat.
Start timer when you add the water, saturate all grounds within 10 seconds. Pour to the number 4 on the aeropress or 290 grams of water if you are using a scale. Stir the slurry once, and place the plunger on top creating a seal. DON’T start plunging yet.
Once you hit 1:15 minutes begin pressing down gently with steady pressure, stopping as soon as you hear a hissing sound.
Clean and Enjoy!
The AeroPress is easy to clean, simply unscrew the basket, push the grounds out and rinse.Make sure to do this immediately after brewing, to keep your AeroPress in good condition.
